Chocolate Mousse a l'Orange

Dessert. The treaty ending to a delicious meal. The relief to a nagging sweet tooth. The pièce de résistance for a dinner party. But your delight doesn't have to be a cheeky one off - no! We have the answer with a chocolate mousse to die for...with a hint of orange to tickle those taste buds. It's full of nutrition, natural sugars only and totally vegan.



INGREDIENTS:


  • Flesh of 1 young coconut

  • ¼ cup of water

  • 2 medjool dates

  • ½ cup of cashews

  • 3 tablespoons of raw cacao powder

  • Pinch of salt

  • 5-10 drops of orange essential oil (therapeutic and food grade) or zest of one orange

  • Berries and orange zest for topping/decoration.

INSTRUCTIONS:

  • Place all indigents in a blender.

  • Add enough water to enable the blade to work effectively (I add the water first before any other ingredients) and blend until creamy and smooth.

  • Pour mixture into glasses or dessert bowls and top with some orange zest or berries.
